Tibermana

Tibermana

Dark Majestic Felicia Zanevski was answering the last questions about her method.

“Good afternoon. I’m Majestic Sakiku. I was wondering how you keep the mana flow constant. The nature of mana is chaotic by essence.”

“Indeed, and that is actually the core of my discovery. The mana is processed through a kataspace matrix. The mana breaks loose, and a Gaussian atomic order emerges from the process.”

“Doesn’t mana lose its magical properties?” asked Majestic Sakiku.

“Kataspace does take some of the mana’s magical potential when Gaussian order takes place. However, the amount does not exceed five percent,” answered Felicia, readjusting her glasses.

“It’s impressive. Thank you, I have no more questions,” said Sakiku.

“If you have more, I encourage you to buy a copy of my book. Thank you all for attending this conference. Have a nice afternoon.”

Her presentation was a complete success. Felicia opened her umbrella and walked out into the pouring rain.

She was about to open her car door when a hand seized her arm.

“Don’t open the car,” someone whispered in her ear.

“Who are you? I know how to defend myself. Release me,” said Felicia Zanevski.

“It doesn’t matter who I am. I have a message from the Republic of Bacharum. Your discovery might change the face of Gaia forever. The Gorgonz of Bacharum ordered me to warn you,” the cloaked stranger said as he let go of her arm.

“I don’t see how. I merely stabilized mana. It’s progress, but it won’t change the face of Gaia. And why shouldn’t I open my car?”

“There is a bomb under it. Bacharum wants you alive, but other powers fear what the Tiberlium of Bacharum and your stabilized mana could do. I don’t know the specifics. I’m no Majestic like you, but people in high places already know, at least in theory, what could arise from such an alliance.”

“All right. Let’s go to my office. We can’t stay under this cold rain all day. Follow me.”

They had barely taken three steps toward the building when Felicia felt a sudden pressure in the air, a ripple, like a vibration in the mana field itself. The stranger froze.

“Get down,” he hissed.

A violet bolt sliced through the rain, striking the pavement where Felicia had stood a heartbeat earlier. Steam erupted. Three silhouettes emerged from behind the parked cars, cloaks soaked, hands glowing with unstable crimson mana.

“Assassins,” Felicia muttered. “Their flux is distorted… rogue Majestics.”

“They’re not from Bacharum,” the stranger said. “These are Faktur renegades.”

Felicia raised her hands. Dark Majestic energy gathered instantly, swirling around her palms like black fire threaded with silver. The rain evaporated before touching it.

“Felicia Zanevski. Your research ends today,” the lead assassin said, his voice warped.

A spiraling lance of chaotic mana shot toward her, crackling violently. Felicia rotated her wrists, forming a kataspace loop.

“Gaussian Fold.”

A translucent geometric matrix unfolded, absorbing the blast. The energy bent, twisted, and collapsed into a harmless puff of white mist.

“She stabilized it,” one assassin whispered. “She really did…”

Felicia stepped forward. “You came to kill me with unstable mana? Let me show you what controlled mana can do.”

She slammed her palms together. A circular shockwave of ordered energy erupted, hurling the first assassin into a car.

The second charged. Felicia released a ribbon of stable mana‑infused dark energy, crystallizing his mana flow and freezing his spell mid‑cast. The backlash knocked him unconscious.

The third tried to flee, but the stranger intercepted him and pinned him to the pavement.

“Who sent you?” Felicia demanded.

“The Empire itself trembles,” the assassin replied. “Tiberlium and stable mana will shift the balance of Gaia. Some prefer the world unchanged.”

Felicia rendered him unconscious with a controlled pulse.

“I prefer research to combat,” she said, adjusting her umbrella, “but I won’t let anyone stop progress. Now let’s get inside. The rain is ruining my hair.”

“Faktur’s Oracle will send agents to defuse the bomb. I gave them an anonymous tip. Your Oracle isn’t as strong as I imagined.”

“It’s a random power. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn’t. It can’t predict every murder in the Empire,” Felicia replied.

Later, they discussed Bacharum’s Tiberlium reserves. The man carried schematics and a pure ingot.

“The union of stabilized mana and Tiberlium has enormous potential. Faktur has never tested it extensively. I will request an audience with the Emperor.”

“I won’t accompany you. My task was only to warn and protect you. Now that you are aware, your fate is in your own hands. Good luck.”

“Have a safe trip home,” Felicia said.

She contacted the Oracle for protection and the Bureau of Public Relations to arrange a meeting with the Emperor.

Within a week, she was presenting her first models.

“Merging stabilized mana with Tiberlium at the atomic level will require a living Dark Majestic and a medium‑level spell. For mass production, the process must be automated.”

“Indeed,” said the Emperor. “I cannot order every Dark Majestic to perform it.” He summoned a Hounag. “Send a delegation to Bacharum to negotiate Tiberlium extraction.”

“Yes, Your Highness.”

“What shall we call this new power source?” the Emperor asked.

Felicia smiled slightly. “Tibermana.”

“Very well.”
